Today, we honor the economic and social contributions of Filipino workers to the nation as we celebrate the 122nd Labor Day— a tribute to the country laborers' effort and hard work. It is remembered that on May 1, 1903, over a hundred thousand Filipino laborers marched from Tondo to Malacañang Palace in demand for fair working and wage practices that were organized by Unión Obrera Democrática Filipina. Since then, Labor Day has been a symbol of unity and movement to demand fair treatment and proper working conditions for the laborers of the Philippines. This is also a call for the government and employers to provide fair treatment and better wages for workers, allowing a protected environment for labor and improved working conditions. #pluMALAYANGBOSES
