Following a successful All Candidates Meeting (ACM), a Convocation for Student Government Elections (SGE) 2025 was held on Thursday afternoon, March 27, via Microsoft Teams, indicating the start of the election period. The event served as the formal introduction of candidates vying for leadership positions on all Bulacan State University (BulSU) campuses and laid out their proposed initiatives and platforms for good student governance. Sean Daniel Cristobal, an independent candidate running for governor from BulSU Bustos, outlined his Personal Program of Action (PPOA), which focuses on addressing bullying and discrimination at university and advocating for the reinforcement of the Magna Carta of Students (MCoS). Raising awareness of social issues, health measures, and student organizations' conditions and needs is also part of his PPOA. Two recognized parties BulSUONE (B1) and Katipunan Student Movement (KASAMA) also presented their General Plan of Action (GPOA) in the event. B1 centers its GPOA on ensuring quality education for students' rights, protecting students' rights, creating a safe space for people with disabilities (PWDs), members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and activists, and securing adequate support and funding for student organizations and publications. KASAMA’s GPOA aims at a well-represented and well-cooperated student congress. It outlines solutions for class scheduling, designated spaces for learning and rest, specific areas for student entrepreneurs, self-expression through clothing, discussions about sex and reproductive health, mental health awareness, environmental rights, and the university's overall stance. After the platform presentations, a solidarity speech was delivered, followed by a pledge to uphold ethical conduct throughout the campaign and election. In his closing remarks, Hon. Rolibert S. Bagui emphasized the essence of true leadership. He stated that leadership is not about holding a title but upholding values that serve others. "Hindi sapat ang pagbibigay ng pangako; ang tunay na lider ay handang gumawa ng aksyon," Bagui added.
